[ He chuckles a little, though. ]

You sound like you think you're a frickin' Jedi, now.

[Delta raises an eyebrow at that.]

What is a 'Jedi'?

[ York laughs, then realizes (from the emotional feedback he's getting) that Delta's serious. ]

Oh, man, you don't know? They're from this old movie series about space wizards. I should show you sometime on our downtime.

[protective_logic]

[Surprise, brief and quashed.]

I do not believe we will be spending much down time together. Now focus. I'm going to loop the cameras on your armor in now.

[howkickassiam]

[ A flash of irritation. How is York supposed to be a good partner to him if they don't hang out? ]

Fine.

[ The footage from the cameras becomes part of the whole, and York takes a deep breath. ]

All right, got that.

[protective_logic]

[Delta can feel the irritation and frowns. Why would he be feeling that? It's irrational.

But it doesn't matter. Not like this. Instead he's just focusing on providing the cameras. And thus giving York a full range of vision, including in his blind spot. It's almost like being able to see again.]

Oh, wow.

[ The words are said on a breath, quiet and amazed. It's been quite a while since he was able to see like this. He tries sending his feelings to Delta—impressed, grateful, happy. ]

[protective_logic]

[The emotions were hard to filter out, very hard. Delta was trained to do this without a wealth of emotions. And the ones he got actually shocked Delta enough to make him drop out of the link. Sorry, York, back to half-blind very suddenly.]

I... I'm sorry.

[ York's silent and still for a moment. ]

What...just happened? You didn't want to know how I felt?

[protective_logic]

[No, it... Delta takes a deep breath.]

I haven't been prepared well for how... emotive you are.

[howkickassiam]

[ York rocks back in his chair, spreading his hands. ]

I tell you, man, that's why we've gotta hang out. Gotta get to know each other; our ins and outs. You know.

[protective_logic]

Hang out?

[Delta considers the offer and is just... confused.]

I'm here to help you, that is all. I don't know how hanging out would serve that end.

[howkickassiam]

You'd find me more predictable, that's all.

[ York's frustrated with Delta. He's so cool and distant. And York's not used to being rejected outright for his friendship overtures. ]

You really just don't want to get to know me, do you?

[protective_logic]

[Would he? Delta frowns. He's just not sure what to do.]

I am supposed to get to know you. I do not know how to.
