"That's how I see it." He takes a sip of his drink. "How many jobs do you take a year?" They were paid well enough that if they felt like it they would only need to take a few.
She shrugs. "Enough to live well. I took on a lot this year because I enjoy what I do." And she needed the distraction. It was either work as much as she could or spend all her time in that damn house and that wouldn't have helped one bit.
"Got a house here, that's all," she replies and her drink is becoming more interesting to look at. "I haven't needed anywhere else, but I'm thinking about moving."
He shakes his head. "I was just thinking we could do a trial on it. We did work well on that one job." He knew he would have to work with someone more than once to see if there's going to be a rapport there.
She stares into her glass as she considers that. It'd do her some good and who knows what kinds of job it'd lead to. She turns in her seat to face him better and nods. "We can give it a shot. Here." She fishes for a napkin and a pen from her pocket to jot down her phone number.
