[ She doesn't interact much with the other Freelancer outside of missions. She doesn't really feel free to—she knows her position as number one, and the shadow operative, sets her at odds to everyone else. She takes care of her daily duties on her own, without socializing, and heads back to rest every night. She doesn't realize it now, but she's programmed not to really notice that she doesn't eat, doesn't use the restroom, doesn't need to take care of creature comforts. She has a room, and she sleeps there, but she also doesn't know they hook her up to power to recharge every night. Basically, what she does are functions of what she is, but there's a part of her that's been specially designed to turn a blind eye to that.
So when Washington comes to her side and starts babbling, she doesn't know how to react quite at first. She's mostly remained silent through this recent mission, glowering at everyone who wanted to confront her for carrying out her role in the way she had been ordered to, so this clear attempt at making a friendly connection leaves her momentarily flummoxed. But then she turns her head toward him. She wonders what kind of expression he has on his face—from the way he sounds, it would be awed. ]
Hey, watch yourself. You don't want to trip over your own jaw.

[ There's definitely some awe in his expression. He's seen a lot of things since joining Freelancer, all kinds of really cool moves and attacks, but everything he's seen from Tex so far has probably been the most impressive. Not that he'd ever say that anywhere that Carolina could hear him.
The response earned has Wash shutting his mouth, but it has him laughing nervously. Okay, yeah, he'd been pretty enthusiastic there and completely obvious about his amazement. It's nice to actually hear Tex's voice for once, though. Honestly, she has a nice voice, he thinks, even nicer when it's used in regular conversation rather than the heat of a mission. It's... also cool to know that she's got a sense of humor under all that armor. That's unexpected. From the vibes he's been getting off of her the odd time he's seen her, she doesn't seem like someone to crack a joke. Then again, he barely sees her and, when he does, it's usually only on missions. ]
Right. Sorry. [ There's another nervous chuckle. ]
I just... thought it was cool. I've never seen anyone do that before.

[ Her voice shows clear amusement now. ]
Knowing your limits, and then pushing them the hell out of the way.
