He smiles, not just because of what they'd just done... although that was obviously part of it... but he's also just genuinely happy that she'd followed through and called him.
"Hey, when you get back- I'm getting a bottle of wine and taking a few extra days off. Really welcome you back properly."
"Are you sure that you can smuggle something like that on board?"
His smile turns cheeky at that suggestion. Oh, he's heard of them. He works with a bunch of nerds and tech geeks. But they never struck him as something she'd be into. Still, if she's interested...
"I don't know the UNSC's stance on military grade sex toys."
"Yeah, yeah," she says. She doesn't think he has in mind to tell her he loves her or anything like that, but she might as well say something that'll fend that off. "Have a good day and all that."
"Yeah, you too." He was going to thank her for calling... but he knows what she's doing and why, so he just rolls his eyes with a fond, wry smile.
"Talk to you later. Especially if you want to discuss getting one of those remote sex toys..."
His hand hovers indecisively over the disconnect. He hates having to be the one to hang up first, but he also really has to go... He gives her a final nod to avoid saying anything more and pushes the button.
Tex heaves a sigh after he hangs up, pulling the covers aside so she can lie down in bed. This time things worked out, but she doesn't know how the rest of her time until leave will go.

He'd call what happened to cause the blowup more scheming than sneaking. But he's trying to put that behind him and focus on them now.
Oh wait, the now. He'd completely lost track of the time... he glances at the clock.
"Oh shit, I'm going to be late!" He starts to try and get himself back into his pants.
"Oh goddamn, I got jizz on my pants. Hang on..." He gets up and runs off to grab a fresh pair of pants. "Don't hang up yet."
After a minute of loudly rummaging around he comes back, hopping on one foot and then the other to wrestle them on.
